T.A.D. Builders Ltd operates an Environmental Management System accredited to ISO 14001:2015.
The Company identifies the following environmental benefits regarding environmental performance as:-
- Reduced damage to our natural environment
- Reduced demand for natural resources
- Reduced disturbance to our neighbours
We are committed to ensuring consistently good environmental performance through due diligence and through the process of continual improvement reviews. We take into consideration the protection of the environment as a whole business strategy, from reducing waste and emissions, through to setting up a sustainable supply chain.
We recognise our obligations to reduce or control the effects the Company’s activities have on the environment, particularly in the areas such as, efficient use of resources, waste disposal, and energy usage. Furthermore through ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, the Company is committed to monitoring and aspiring to improve its environmental sustainability performance.
For the system to succeed, individuals must recognise that they have a responsibility to ensure a duty of care towards the environment. The amount of waste, energy and resources used must be kept to the absolute minimum and where waste is created, to consider the most environmentally appropriate means of disposal.
As part of our environmental management system, improvement targets and initiatives are set for both construction sites and offices to ensure that we are continually monitoring and reducing our carbon footprint.
Under the WRAP initiative, the Company has a crusher located in the plant yard from which materials are recycled back into the construction process, and in the last five years alone we have recycled over 7,000 tonnes of material.
We have recycled in excess of 3000 kitchen units when refurbishing residential properties by engaging a woodchip company to recycle the units into chipboard for re-use.
